|Below are some photos of the annual outing for the elderly organized by Xewkija Local Council. Present for this outing were Mayor Mr. Paul Azzopardi, councillor Mr. Domenic Zerafa and General Secretary Ms. Sue Ellen Bugeja. Towards the end of the lunch, which was held at Horizon Restaurant, those present were given a small Christmas gift.|
|On Friday 27th and Saturday 28th November, Xewkija Local Council celebrated Jum ix-Xewkija with several activities which included a football tournament organized with Xewkija Tigers Youth Nursery which was spread over two weekends, a commemorative mass and the laying of flower as a remembrance of the local victims from WWII and finally the main event on Saturday evening which was held at Teatru Giovanni. During this ceremony, which saw both Minister for Gozo Hon. Dr. Anton Refalo and Parliament Member Dr. Justyne Caruana present, Mayor Mr. Paul Azzopardi awarded Mr. Govann Buttigieg and Mr. Charlon Buttigieg respectively with the Gieh ix-Xewkija and Premju Hidmet iz-Zghazagh award for their efforts and dedication during the past year.|
The University of Malta invites you to apply to participate in a national workshop for citizens.

More than 1000 citizens around Europe will meet to create visions for the future during December 2015. The aim is to collect citizens’ visions of Malta or the world in 20-30 years. These visions will later be presented to scientists and policy-makers and serve as a baseline to develop future research programmes.
Attendance is free – lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
Please feel free to pass on this info to anyone who you think may be interested in attending.
Citizens from Gozo will have their ferry expenses refunded on the day against the relevant receipt.
On the initiative of europe direct information centre of Victoria Gozo, in collaboration with the European Parliament Office in Malta and Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, a biblical garden was inaugurated on Thursday, 5th November 2015 on Ghammar Hill, Ta’ Pinu, Gozo as part of a project co-funded by the European Union.
Forty two, carob, pomegranate and fig trees were planted in the area of the 4th station of the way of the cross, trees which are mentioned in the bible. The rector of Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, Reverend Gerard Buhagiar, spoke about the project plan which he has for the area of Ta’ Pinu sanctuary and the surrounding area. This biblical garden can be enjoyed by people who can stay in silence to reflect and pray in the midst of nature.
