Annual Public Meeting
In accordance with Article 70 (1) of the Local Councils Act (Cap. 363), an annual public meeting will be held on Wednesday 11th February 2015 at 4pm, at the Xewkija Local Council's office in Triq it-Torri Tinghi, Xewkija.
All residents whose names appear in the last Xewkija Local Council's Electoral Register are urged to attend and participate in the discussion. Participants can put forward their suggestions for the Council's consideration.
Laqgha Pubblika Annwali
Skont l-Artiklu 70 (1) tal-Att dwar Kunsilli Lokali (Kap. 363), ser issir laqgha pubblika annwali nhar l-Erbgha il-11 ta' Frar 2015, fl-4pm, fl-Ufficju tal-Kunsill Lokali Xewkija, Triq it-Torri Tinghi, Xewkija.
Ir-residenti li isimhom jidher fl-ahhar Registru Elettorali ghall-Kunsill Lokali tax-Xewkija huma mhegga li jattendu u jippartecipaw fid-diskussjoni. Il-partecipanti jistghu jressqu s-suggerimenti taghhom ghall-kunsiderazzjoni tal-Kunsill.
On Saturday 20th December, Xewkija Local Council presented Hon. Ms. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca a cheque, representing the sum collected from the residents of Xewkija in aid of Istrina 2014.
Present for this event, which was animated by Prekursur Youth Band and local singer Sarah Bonnici, were Mayor Mr. Paul Azzopardi together with Councillors Mr. Domenic Zerafa, Ms. Jeanelle Vella and Excecutive Secretary Ms. Sue Ellen Bugeja.
On Wednesday 17th December, Xewkija Local Council organized an outing for the elderly as part of the annual Christmas Activities.
This outing included a mass at St. Anthony Chruch in Ghajnsielem and afterwards lunch was served at Ta' Kenuna Restaurant in Nadur.
Local Mayor Mr. Paul Azzopardi and Councillor Ms. Jeanelle Attard gave presents to those who attended.
|Jum ix-Xewkija celebrations came to an end on Thursday 27th with a mass concelebrated by Archpriest Mons. Carmelo Mercieca and Fr. Gwann Mizzi in tal-Hniena Chapel. After the mass, a short ceremony saw Mayor Mr. Paul Azzopardi putting flowers next to the World War II monument near the same chapel.|
On Sunday 23rd November, Xewkija Local Council in collaboration with Xewkija Tigers Youth Nursery held the annual Jum ix-Xewkija Football Festival, which this year was reserved for the Under 9 category.
Along with Xewkija Tigers Youths Nursery, also the youth nursery of Ghajnsielem FC, Oratory Youths and Nadur Youngsters took part in this tournament.
