The Xewkija Local Council organized activities during the most beautiful time of the year, Christmas. With the cooperation of the Gozo Legion of Mary a Christmas Carol Service was organized at the Xewkija Parish Church.  This activity was held on the 20th of December 2007.

The Council organized an outing for the elderly residents.  We visited various cribs in other localities in Gozo.  A lunch and a bingo (tombla) were organized at the Arka Foundation Hall in Ghajnsielem.  The Mayor Dr Monica Vella and Deputy Mayor Mr George Zammit presented gifts to all those that attended for this social event.

Another activity that was organized by the Council during Christmas time was the party for children.  For this party over hundred children attended.  The kids had entertain and played games while at the end of the party the Father Christmas gave gifts to all the children.
