Another activity held during the months of November and December was the Education campaign about Recycling Waste.  At the beginning of November each class of the Xewkija Primary School was given green bags by the Greenpak.  Greenpak Education Officer Mr Kurt Scerri explained to the students what materials must be recycled and what happens with the recycled waste collected.  A competition was organized at the School and the class that proportionally collected most recyclable waste was awarded at the end of the campaign.  In fact the campaign was a success as the students collected many bags of recyclable waste.  Then on the 2nd of December Greenpak mascot Green Gary came to meet the children.  Since all the classes made their effort to collect the recyclable waste, it was decided that all classes will be awarded for their effort and the Mayor Dr Monica Vella presented books to all classes.  Students of the P4 class had a special prize as they collected most recyclable waste.
